After the introduction of new energy efficiency regulations in the 1990s, Adrian Wright recognised the opportunity to conduct energy audits for housing agencies and local authorities.

His company Enact Energy soon expanded to offer funding for energy related projects, as well as the design of energy saving systems. One of Enact's most successful initiatives was the Heat Project, which helped 40 local authorities and thousands of householders become more energy efficient, saving over £10 million.

Enact has 12 employees, but with their turnover doubling each year, they expect take on more soon.

Enact has helped numerous local authorities and individual householders throughout the UK become more energy efficient. They also provide consultancy and energy efficiency management services to utilities companies.
