Two major new programmes worth nearly £9m have been launched to support the development of high growth potential businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly over the next three years.
The Starting a High Growth Business programme assists potential entrepreneurs to start up businesses and helps start-up firms to grow. Practical hands-on help can be provided on issues ranging from creating a business plan and securing funding to identifying new markets and developing new products and services. There is a particular focus on entrepreneurs and start-ups in Camborne, Pool, Redruth, St Austell and the Clay Country.
The Coaching for High Growth programme helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to realise their growth potential and improve their performance. Managers of SMEs can access practical coaching and mentoring assistance delivered by coaches who have worked at board level in SMEs on a free and confidential basis.
Both programmes are managed by Oxford Innovation, a leading provider of business support services and mentoring to start-up and growing companies and are funded from the Convergence European Regional Development Fund and the South West RDA.
