In June 2009 UK economic and business development company YTKO was chosen to set-up and manage a business collaboration network serving Cornwall and the Scilly Isles.
Almost £1,350,000 of ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Convergence investment was approved for the contract with an additional injection of £150k from the South West RDA (Regional Development Agency). It is estimated that the three-year project will support 380 businesses.
YTKO Programme Director, Helen Trudgeon, hopes that collaborations formed through the project will encourage businesses to work together and pursue market opportunities they would be unable to obtain on their own. "Collaboration pays real dividends to companies working together, not just in new sales, but also in the development of skills, processes and manageable growth".
