Between January and April, companies have the chance to obtain a £2,500 'golden hello' if they sign up teenage apprentices. The first 5,000 businesses that take part in the scheme will receive the 'golden hello'. The scheme has been introduced by the National Aprenticeship Service (ANS) to encourage businesses to take on young apprentices and reduce unemployment amongst 16 and 17 year olds.
